The University of Burgos is a public university, recognized as one of the best in Spain for its research efforts. The University of Burgos rises to fourth place within the Spanish university system according to the U-Ranking 2024 published by the BBVA Foundation and the IVIE. Among the universities of Castilla y León, the Burgos institution once again ranks as the top university in the region in overall performance, teaching, research, and innovation. This ranking evaluates a total of 70 universities, including all public and 22 private institutions. It carries out its mission by providing comprehensive, high-quality education that is closely connected to students and focused on internationalization.

Approaching its 30th anniversary, it has already become a benchmark in Spanish university research and knowledge transfer to the business sector. It is a member of the European University RUN-EU, one of the exclusive 50 institutions on which the EU aims to build the European University System of the near future. Currently, the university offers 29 undergraduate degrees, 5 of which are available in both online and in-person formats, and 2 bilingual programs in English and Spanish.
